The aim of the MEGAPSY collection is to allow you to come as close as possible to your singular reality. This approach of your peculiarity allows to show yourself the deepest dynamism of your psychic structure.

A set of very efficient tests have been especially elaborated to make scientifically aware of the essential factors of your personnality.

These questionnaires are particularely suitable because they are confidential. However, one must know that one only result doesn’t attribute one element of structure or another. The result got in one questionnaire must be collated with other results got in other questionnaires.

There are no good or bad results. This secret talk with yourself favours spontaneity in answering and allows you to avoid feeling of being observed and the inconscious reactions such as resisting or dodging.

You may consciously or unconsciously distort the answers, it is not efficient because these misrepresentations might be recognized in the incompatibility of the results and also be confessions about yourself and might reveal either lines of your character or what you would like to be.

In psychotechnic field, the required time to manage and to correct the tests have drawn attention on the necessity of a test which would more economically give a personnal and user-friendly result with a similar significance as in a classical test.

The equipement of the test is neither a handbook nor a sheet of paper, but allows the user to print directly his results on the line and in the most confidential way.

The MEGAPSY tests have been worked out to help the subject to understand quickly the most intimate components of his personnality. Because of the simplicity of their use and the great number of factors they measure, these tests may be used at a large scale, since they allow to fortell accurately most of the human behaviour.

Moreover, their private and confidential nature allows a face to face encounter with oneself, and leads to a better consent to be objective and sincere, so that all oppositions and dodgings the presence of an observer would cause  are avoided.

Simple and explicit instructions are given. An unlimited time is given to answer. The average time required to answer all the questions of one test is generally ten minutes.

The tests have been translated into English, Spanish, Italian and German, only in order to take the sociological situation of each concerned country into account and to avoid every ambiguity linked to culture. This considerably improves the application’s properties   of the psychic phenomena's  quantitative measuring.

Taking all these considerations into account, MEGAPSY has been elaborated to reach the following aims :

• a selection of the most useful and independant factors
• one only test for each personnality factor
• a correction in real time.

Kuder’s formulas have been applied to the data concerning the two sexes separated and together. There are no pronounced differences between the sexes except for the « Toleration to frustration » factor. The experimentation of standardization aimed at producing the standarts. It has been carried out on a large sample of women and men. The questionnaire has been applied to 1854 women and 2238 men. We thank all our patients who agreed to take part to this experience. No tendancy linked to age have been noticed exept for the factors « levelheadedness » for men and « efficiency » as far as women were concerned. On the whole, the factors remain constant and stable through the different age groups.

The results have demonstrated the fine stability of the factorial structure. Actually, all the questionnaires give good results as far as their own factors are concerned, so that they demonstrate the discriminating power of the selected items.

The information given by the validation studies and from the clinical experience on other questionnaires allowed to read the factors and some combination of these. A test which was applied individually with no supervision and when each subject could have plenty of time to quitly answer each question led to the best results.

Each scale is standardized in such a manner that the furthest the mark is from the average, the most extreme it is considered, the most evident the measured factor would be in the subject.

However, all experienced psychologists are aware of the limits of precision as far as interpreting the human dimension is concerned.

One may say that, for a confidence interval of 95%, the margin of error is about two standard errors of measuring. The program is provided for avoiding the errors especially in interpreting extreme marks, because a small difference of two points in a primary mark might lead to a big difference in the final result. There may be several explanations for an extreme mark :

• answers given at random, due to the indifference to the trial.
• The subject might have done his best to give a good impression. One must underline that even if the factors have a bipolar construction because of their logical structure, this doesn’t mean at all that the high marks are compulsorily good and the low ones bad.

The coefficients of accuracy test- retest show the stability in time of the different factors. The second serial of tests has been made 2 or 3 months after the first one. The correlations (Bravais- Pearson) between the two trials gave the following result :

The obtained values for internal firmness vary from .64 to .81 with an average of .73.
